Re: Booting From USB
I was able to get AntiX booting off the USB. The live CD lets you install AntiX onto a USB drive as a real linux installation (complete with swap partition) -- but I was unable to get the Penmount drivers works (everything else worked fine).

Great job! You've surely 'ousted' my NimbleX with this one. Can't wait for the write up.

Re: 100% Working NimbleX on the WebDT366
@miltonwillis I just sent you a message, but I'll post it here for future users. Just download 7-zip and extract the ISO's to folders. If you carefully watch my video tutorial, you will see that is what I have done. The only reason why I suggested to burn them to DVD was to make the text-tutorial ...

LCARS on the WebDT
Here's my current backdrop on my WebDT. I'm about to make a 'navigational' html site using LCARS layout, hoping I can use it as a "media center" within Windows CE. Here's a photo of the WebDT with the background: http://aqwinfo.sqweebs.com/webdt366/webdt_lcars.JPG Here's the background if...

Re: Case MOD - Housing USB FlashDrives Internally
Apologies for the delay in the photos, but here they are. The reason why I did this was because my Internal battery stopped holding a charge, so I decided to use that wasted space to house a USB flash drive. The way I transfer files onto the USB stick from my main PC is that I simply attach my 5ft U...

Case MOD - Housing USB Flash Drives Internally
I'm on my WebDT right now... but as soon as I take pics, I'll post the specifics of this case mod. Currently I have a 2GB USB stick housed inside the unit, so if it drops its well protected --- also acts as secondary hdd (which boots too!).
Will post full details later with pics.

Small USB Drive
Nice flash drive. I just did a 'mod' on my WebDT that lets me house flash drives "internally". I still need to take pics, and then I'll post the hardware mod that I performed on my unit .... hmmm, maybe a 'hardware' section is in order.

Re: how to install a LINUX distribution on internal flash drive?
I haven't converted any of my .LZM's to .MO's as a lot of OS swapping is involved ... eventually once we get a more "dedicated" linux build for the WebDT, that's when I'll start to concentrate more effort on software packages. There are tons of .MO's that you can use for NimbleX via the Sl...

How to convert .LZM's to .MO's
You can convert any LZM to an MO , it's a bit time consuming but you can do it. Here are the steps: 1. Download the LZM you want to convert and save it to a USB stick or alternative location 2. Boot into either NimbleX 2008 or Slax 6.0.9 3. Navigate to the folder that contains the LZM you want to c...

Re: Penmount linux compatibility
I had the same problem with Vector Linux ... installation of drivers went through successfully and the xorg.conf had the proper changes, but touch point was unresponsive. The really odd thing about it all is that Vector Linux is based on the same type of slackware builds as NimbleX and Slax... so th...

Re: Windows CE 5 questions
Again, Flash 7 is outdated and won't work ... I only put up the file because it was one of the only .CAB files that would install properly... other than it installing properly, it's pretty much useless.

Re: Games, or any software.
Don't get your hopes up on getting a better browsing experience under Windows CE 5.0 ... it just doesn't exist. Not even Micro$oft will help us there. The only way to get a better operating environment on these WebDT's is by getting a good Linux build (so far the only one that works is my NimbleX ...

Re: how to install a LINUX distribution on internal flash drive?
For any Slackware build (NimbleX or Slax) you'll need to download the "Slackware 12.0 Driver V2.0.1" driver from the link I provided above. I don't know which ones work under Puppy -- angyremeat said he was close to getting puppy working, so I didn't want to duplicate his efforts. As far ...

Re: Linpus Lite, holy grail distro?
I was aware of Linpus Lite too, but after seeing the Penmount Drivers I didn't bother... my gut tells me that Linpus Lite won't work with Penmount .... or I could just have an upset stomach and the drivers will work fine.
