Re: Android on Geode GX

Hi, You will definately need to compile the source - including a new kernel. Main changes are adding the PCMCIA drivers and including a slightly modified penmount driver. You will need inputattach included as a service to get the penmount driver to bind to the serial port. I turned mine on last nigh...

Re: Android on Geode GX

Hi, I have posted previously about my efforts but havn't done anything on it of late. The Android-X86 base is the best starting point that I found. Issues I encountered were as follows; * Booting from USB - solved using the ISO image and the Unetbootin software to write the ISO to USB. Early version...

Re: Android...

Hi, Android does not use X so the penmount drivers are no good. I got this working by using the serial driver that is part of the kernel. There was a couple of issues with this but it works. The kernel needs to be built with the penmount module and this has to bound to a serial port. There is a util...

Re: Android...

Hopefully will have something usable soon. Having more problems than I expected with the wireless networking at the moment.... If you read the other message you would have seen that I am basing the work on 1.6. Just read a seperate message from the android-x86 group that mentioned the eclair code ha...

Re: Live Android 0.3 on DT366

immortalsoule, This is what I have been working on as well. When you say you burned v0.3 what are you referring to? Android code is typically referred to as version 1.1, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and now 2.1 as per the release version from Google. I am using the android-x86 port - is that what you are refreeing...

Re: Special kernel settings

Progressing, albeit slowly. The latest x86 build definately has changes that allowed the USB drive to be recognised by the init script so that is good as a live image can run. It doesn't see the Internal drive though so install doesn't work. I have therefore been trying to get a kernel built that in...

Re: Special kernel settings

Hey Darren, Afik no one here has compiled a special kernel, yet. Its on the to do list for myself but time has not been permitting of late. That and I have never compiled a kernel. A good way to see what mods get pulled in is to hook a usb drive up and throw debian lenny in the drive. I cant help b...

Special kernel settings

Hi, Has anyone that has compiled a recent kernel for webdt 366 used any special settings. I am having a problem that the internal disk will not mount as part of the init script hence causing remainder of bootup to not work. I have one machine running weborbiter for linuxmce which uses a cutdown debi...
