Re: Boot problem with DT366LX
The boot problem seems to be caused by the internal flash module. After I have removed it and followed a topic by drc-wartex regarding running an OS directly from USB, i succeeded in booting the device. I have installed all the drivers and it's working fine for now. Except for the hardware buttons, ...

Windows XP from a USB flash drive, hardware buttons troubles
I managed to install and run (and beed running since monday, 22.11) a full featured Windows XP SP3 from a 4GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade flash drive. I managed using the tool USBoot, which I found while browsing here, in the forum. Anyways, I have a dt366lx800 (from tbowland). I installed all the drivers ...

Re: BIOS battery
I took apart my DT366 (LX modfication) and the battery in it is a CR1220 3V battery. Mine is also quite dead (measuring about 50mV) and that's why my BIOS settings reset when I disconnect the main battery
Hope this is helpful

Re: Boot problem with DT366LX
I removed the internal flash from the boot list as you said. And then it says: "No boot device found. Halting". I suspect the internal flash could be defective(again as you've said). But the strange thing is that I put the 4GB flash DOM I have and it acted exactly the same way as with the ...

Re: Boot problem with DT366LX
I achieved a moderate progress in this problem. I found out, that when the internal flash is not presnt the DT boots from one of my USB sticks without any problem (I made my breakthrough when fiddling with a 4GB replacement flash module).
Can anyone tell me one what can cause this to happen?

Re: Boot problem with DT366LX
The drives are USB drives, and yes I checked if they boot on my laptop. I don't have a USB CD-ROM, but I'm wokring to get one soon. I tried to boot with the usb stick plugged in a hub and directly in the cradle( I have a charging cradle) and still, I can't get it to boot.

Re: BIOS or CMOS Reset?
If your question is still unanswered:
I managed to reset the BIOS settings by removing the CMOS battery for a while and then putting it again in place. Of course, this involves dismantling the device. To find out which part is the CMOS battery, see forum/viewtopic.php?t=0

Boot problem with DT366LX
So, the problem is that with all the flash drives I found around - one old 256MB and one 8GB - I can't make the DT boot from either one. I played with the BIOS settings a bit - set the USB Hard Drive/Flash Drive to be the first boot device but it was no good. I downloaded the archive that makes a f...
