Re: Debian 6 linux image for the WebDT366lx800

Follow the instructions in this post:

forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1069

And you will effectively be restoring the backup I made on my webdt to your own.

My advice would be to not use the firewall or to make an exception. If your firewall is blocking you that is on your end. Not much I can do for your firewall and its settings.

Re: MicroXP / XP drivers

As the instructions indicate a usb cd-rom is the way to achieve results. For some reason usb install does not work.

Re: Complete Image of Puppy 4.3.1 including Penmount drivers

That image that Matt made was a back up of his system using the dd command. Its not an installable iso image and that is why its not working in unetbootin. The way that Matt did it was he booted his webdt to a usb installed distro like puppy or slax (now porteus) or one of the others out there and m...

Re: Custom Linux Build with Wifi, Touchscreen, and Firefox

Hats off to you Sir! Wonderful work! I had often thought about a LFS approach however my last run around with PenMount left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Tried to use tslib unsuccessfully in making the touchscreen operate. I have a ton of questions however let me start with only a few. How did you...

Re: Unfamiliar with this product, does it have a Hard Drive?

http://webdt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40&hilit=foxx The above link has broken picture links but the text is accurate. Depending on the model you have there could be a number of different configurations. Some did have an option for an internal hard drive while most have a horizontal DO...

I have a copy of the image you are looking for. About to leave for work in a few minutes. Let me set up a way for you to download. I'll either pm you this evening, when I return home from work, or reply to this thread.

Re: Help !!!!! Web DT Newbie

List all the details of what it is you are trying to boot to including how you put the OS to the usb stick. Nimblex can run from USB but nobody has been able to get the WebDT version of Nimblex to boot from internal ssd. On USB Nimblex is slower than dirt as the GX series only offers USB 1.1. My bes...

Re: Help !!!!! Web DT Newbie

Flash video may be a little too much for the webdt depending on how the video was encoded. Here is a link for the hardware requirements for flash player 11. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html If memory serves the GX has a 400mhz cpu and 256mb of ram. While you are in bios look...

Re: slitaz Work in progressq

Ahh, Hardware buttons require the atlas_btn driver in the kernel. Possibly a "modprobe atlas_btn". At that point they come through as acpi events, which xev will see and loop through the xorg input layer. I used to use an app called evrouter to see which event layer they were hitting. PCMC...

Re: slitaz Work in progressq

Congratulations on building a working Linux install on your WebDT! That is awesome. Thank you kindly for the how to. May I ask which hardware set you are on? GX - 400mhz w/usb1 or LX - 500mhz w/usb2? I am thinking lx since you mentioned a pci network card. How much of a memory footprint does Slitaz ...

Re: slitaz Work in progressq

Nice work ron85! Yes penmount does require xorg in order to take. Staying with kernel 2.6.32 and down is also needed. Along the way penmount changed the way that they make the drivers and I found out the hardway that they do not support i586 with their newer builds. In the last batch of emails I exc...
