Very interesting. but as always I have a few questions. Did you have to file down the connector to make a good contact? Does the case still close? This sounds like marketing speak for we can charge big bucks if it is DT Research only. The DT 366 uses standard chips (Geode GX) so there is nothing 2 special there. Some things I can think of are the DT 366 modules are low profile. I have also been thinking that they may even be 270 degree modules...

One benefit of the DT366 is all these great people that have them to share info, I dont know of anyone with a DT368.

Please let us know exactly what flash module you ordered and if it works out.

Umm, you may have to sand the connector down. The DT 366 uses a low profile connector like the one pictured here

I had a similar issue, I think the DT366 can only boot from the first part of the drive. If the file needed to boot is later in the drive it will fail. I worked around this by using a small 8MB? Fat partition at the beginning of the usb disk that held syslinux, the linux kernel and initrd after this...

I don't think B is the bottleneck.

I could not get the PCMCIA slot to read or write faster than 1.6MB/s to a fast CF card in the PCMCIA slot. I have a feeling both the PCMCIA and CF card are hanging off a USB1.1 connection.  (USB 1.1 12Mb/8 = 1.5MB/s I.e. within my experimental error.)
