Dual boot Linux and Windows CE

Well I am very excited.  Thanks to quotaholic and all his awesome images, anything is possible. After seeing the Debian Lenny with 100meg free, I decided to see if I could dual boot. Well it is possible and I have done it.  I am still playing with it, but expect a full write up for those that are in...

Re: Nimblex 2009 WebDT Beta

Creating an .iso will not help.  You will still need an operating system, ie: live CD to apply the image to the drive.  We are working on getting an installer based system.  Stay tuned!

Yes, sorry I did not pick up on that earlier.  The image was created using /dev/hda, therefore should be reversed the same way.

Re: Nimblex 2009 WebDT Beta

Just heard back from Bogdan and he has indicated the following: ... Further work. ... I've only booted from a flash drive where I installed syslinux but if that worked I don't see why booting from the internal flash shouldn't be possible. All this being said, Happy Hacking Bogdan ... Thank you very...

Hmn, brave using Ext4...LOL Anyway, perhaps you have a bad download, or bad image extraction.  To confirm, how did you extract the .img file from the .gz download? The .img should be 500MB.  Do a md5checksum on the .img.  Here is results from my md5. 2a178d7324bf1f7b69cd2169a92dc348  Pup.img Note, I...

Re: Outdoor usage

I have attempted to use mine in my car... it did not do so well at 15 deg F here in Michigan... I think the battery had the issue... I tried to power it up while it was cold and the charger circuit smoked on my 360. I removed the battery and the unit still functions on direct 12vdc, but will not wo...

Re: 100% Working NimbleX on the WebDT366

Don't loose hope.  I believe I have an .img (via dd command) of a thumb drive I made from Fleegmans how-to.  We will still need to edit or move the thread, but all should not be lost.  Give me a few days to sort through the mess of scattered files I have.  :o

The image file is applied to the internal flash disk using linux dd command.  There are instructions here how to image the drive using dd and a live Linux distro.

Re: Wake event has been set, but where?

You would have better luck with Linux or a more rich Windows version.  Finding apps to run in CE is a bugger.  Either way, I hope someone can figure out more advanced info on the BIOS.  It seems there are hidden functions....That is the only thing that makes sense to me about the wake experience I h...

Re: CF Card for the / (root) filesystem.

evilbob, can you please post your steps to modify init or initrd? I have attempted a couple how to's. I am not sure where to insert into the extracted init, or if I should create a new file in the modules directory then recreate the initrd.gz. I was attempting it on 8.04, which has initrd.img. EDIT:...

We have no idea.  This was a freak thing.  I have not seen the wake events in a long time.

Re: Another try?

Video seems to be a thorn on this one.  1 out of 100 attempts, will render video.  I did not try via USB, I tried the alternate CD, and Desktop CD.  I used vga=771, which gave good video for the 1 in 100 attempts.  I tried vga=ask, which brought up multiple choices, but all attempts actually crashed...

Re: Another try?

I am downloading now.  Just to clarify Lucid Lynx is version 10.1

Ubuntu naming/numbering scheme is based on release date ie:  Jan 2010 = 10.1 and Apr. 2010 =10.4.  Long term releases are on even years, in the month of april.
