I think I found a deb package for it. we know how compatible ubuntu is withdebian but the question is ...

Just in case you weren't aware of puppy 5

Puppy 5 ... well can we really go there? maybe they will make a distro called puppy 5 but that will be seen. So far from what I can tell puppy 5 is multiple versions of puppy (or perhaps they will just call these puplets) based on a project called woof. Basically puppies based on woof will be puppy ...

Re: experimental Operating system

You will have to format your hard drive to ext3 (or what ever) and set up a boot flag. You will also have to tell it where the partition you are going to have to install it as is. Full path  (ie /dev/sda1) I am assuming the hard drive will be sda1 so do verify. I think you can set it up on usb if yo...

experimental Operating system

This is what I posted in the linux forum. "2/os I think it's basically what's left of the e/os project. I haven't found alot of documentation but the interest in the project is very user specific based around a small community (like most linux distributions are). Until the project gets abit fur...

Re: experimental Operating system

go to the download section and get the latest iso if you want. If the windows drivers don't work then try to compile the penmount for linux gpm source. I don't think gcc is installed standard but it is availible on the site. There is documentation on it but some questions might not be answered. More...

Re: Ubuntu alpha

Well with ubuntu there is always the choice of a third party version like linux mint. If anyone did try lubuntu and it did work there is a linux mint lxde distro available.

Re: Slitaz

I haven't tested it on my dt. Got it loaned out at the moment but on my AMD64x2 it loaded in about 20 seconds from usb.  It's got an up to date kernel and I think it uses alien to convert  other packages to it's packages. If I recall it claims some debian compatibility.

Did anyone not follow these directions:

"!!! Make sure you restore it using Ghost via Restore Disk From Image, not Restore Partition from Image, as that will fail. !!!"

Re: Looking for a volunteer with linux installed on their dt

It's not exactly the same process you are used to but it goes along way to ensure compatibility when copying and transferring on os to another system that is exactly the same.

Re: Looking for a volunteer with linux installed on their dt

It don't work that way as I understand it. You get the package for your distro and install it and then run it and then iy makes a bootable copy.
