Re: how to install a LINUX distribution on internal flash drive?
Personally, I wouldn't touch the internal flash drive until we get a more sleek and solid build for the WebDT. But if you really, really want to install it to the internal flash drive, you would need an external USB CD/DVD ROM, external Keyboard and external Mouse --- all connected via a USB Hub. ...

Re: Anyone tried a tiny linux distro like DSL?
I tried the following linux distro's with fail on the penmount: - Vector Linux - AntiX - Mepis - Knoppix Feather - Ubuntu (all mixes; crash during GUI load) Even though I was able to install the penmount drivers, they would just not work; which is really very odd as the Vector Linux is based upon th...

Re: Windows CE 5 questions
Hard Reset (or closest thing there is) - Open up Control Panel - Launch "Save Settings" - Click the middle tab "Default Settings" - Check "Reset to Default" - Click OK Flash and Web Browsing Flash7 is outdated, the only reason why I included it as part of some CE files...

Re: How do I right click?
Just re-run the calibration tool. The shortcuts are in the menu (System I think).

Re: Anyone tried a tiny linux distro like DSL?
Some of us have already tried Ubuntu ( and it's counterparts ) only to see if fail during the GUI launch. Having a base system in which packages can be added on later would be ideal, but it seesm as if many of the micro-distros are still quite bloated (from a tablets perspective). Here's an excerpt...

Re: What Drivers Do I need
The Penmount drivers that I used in the NimbleX build were the Slackware 12.0 Driver V2.0.1. When you install it, just accept the default settings.
I really don't know what drivers were used in the Orbiter build.

Re: 100% Working NimbleX on the WebDT366
I tried to setup the "blank" screen saver as the one to use in the "standby" icon, but it wouldn't show up. So that's why I used the "matrices" as the screensaver when you launch the "standby" icon. I knew about the lock problem. You can't launch xvkbd to ty...

Re: Using modules LiveMode, where do they go?
Ya, I tried to setup a persistent storage on the NimbleX2007 build, but it wouldn't work. I tried various 'changes options' (ie: changes=filename.dat or even changes=/changes/), but for whatever reason it just would stick. Anything saved in the live filesystem, will get removed upon reboot ... but i...

Re: WinCE file system format?
It's only the older builds of slackware (ie: NimbleX2007 and Slax5) that have a hard time reading the filesystem. If you connect a USB hub, and plug in an external keyboard, mouse and a Slax6.0.9 usb boot stick, it can read the file system with no problems --- you can actually mount the drives and ...

Re: Using modules LiveMode, where do they go?
Yes. When you double-click on the .MO files, they get extracted, installed into Live memory then deleted. The only time the .MO files do not get deleted is if you 'double-click' on them from a location other than the filesystem. EG: You download GParted.MO and it is saved somewhere within "/&q...

Re: What Drivers Do I need
Hardware Drivers Needed: - modify xorg.conf files and set max screen resolution to 800x600 - XVKBD (http://homepage3.nifty.com/tsato/xvkbd/) - PenMount (http://www.penmount.com/down_2_1_9k.php) - WiFi and BlueTooth (I never found any to download, they just 'worked' or didn't on the builds I've tested)

Re: Anyone tried a tiny linux distro like DSL?
DSL will boot up into the "desktop" no problem on the WebDT ... but the hardware needs to be configured (wireless, bluetooth, desktop resolution, virtual keyboard and touchpoint). Since I was working on NimbleX at the time, I didn't bother with DSL any further... but from angrymeats last ...
