Re: Formal apology

Hey DAM, Never played with TinyCore. Penmount is actually really good with support. They line their driver up with kernel version and again xorg version. To make it quick I go to distrowatch.com and go to the main say... ubuntu page. I can scoll down and see a table of what kernel and which xorg the...

Re: DT310 IDE Problems

Foxx is the only member here who has made mention of owning a bios flashing rig. The hard part will be finding a bios for the 310. I may be able to ask around to a few people who are not active here any longer to see if they can be of help. As it is an newer unit than what most of us have I am very ...

Formal apology

Hello fellow WebDT owners. I need to take a moment to apologize to everyone because I fell off the face of the planet about a year ago. I had a pretty consistent effort going on the linux side of things and it all stopped when I relocated to Colorado. I think I could sum it all up with five words as...

Re: Why can't I get an IDE hard drive working in my DT166???

Not sure if this will help or not but look at the post here: http://webdt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7 My thinking is that DT Research wanted to sell you that hard drive so they made it so generic hardware like a 2.5" hard drive wont work on their hardware. I had to modify the flash module I bou...

Re: Functional linux image for the DT360 512MB

Long story short, no. Unless you have bluetooth running on a device that can act as a bluetooth network access point. I did it with a cheap USB bluetooth stick and ubuntu or my mac as well as windows with their native utilities. Actually I used Blueman on ubuntu, www.blueman-project.org not the stoc...

Re: Internal Flash-IDE Upgrade

After looking at the data sheet on your chip it looks to be of the same pin out as the ones mentioned in this thread. Meaning that you may have to remove a pin. Easy way to tell is to install it and try to boot. If your tablet does not boot then yes you will have to remove pin 43 either from the chi...

Re: is this like a PDA??

If you are looking for superior windows functionality and features I would say get a netbook running windows 7. The DT366 has a very limited install of WinCE on it. It was featured to primarily act as a thin client above most other functionality. Many apps available for both wince and windows in gen...

Re: Internal Flash-IDE Upgrade

Glad you got it working. I don't mess with windows too much but your post brought back a memory from about a year ago. Someone putting together a XPE image was talking about EWF as a way to move certain things to the CF card. Wondering if it would work for moving the pagefile for you? Most indicatio...

Re: A Couple General Questions

That button daemon will duplicate what xev sees if they are both installed. At one time I had that source but it was just an example file with only the first of the four hard buttons mapped. Tried myself to get that button recognized. Did an acpi listen with no luck. About the only thing I have not ...

Re: A Couple General Questions

As far as I know the LinuxMCE project are the only ones that have been successful in mapping the record button. Their image, pad orbiter, is available here: http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=6663.0;topicseen One should be able to mount it in loop back and take a look under the hood. Not sure...

Re: A Couple General Questions

Thanks for the links. Never tried a 686 kernel on a DT. I see that arch has a 586 version. http://archlinux-i586.org/ Thinking on it, when I posted the debian sid stuff working on the DT366-LX800 everything was working well. I screwed up the install doing something or another. When I formatted and w...

Re: A Couple General Questions

Fantastic work! Check out this thread. About 5 posts down Mak mentions an xorg.conf option that helped me in the past to get the screen working better. http://webdt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=852#p852 Although I have tried a squashfs approach I have not yet had success. Hard to find a good how to out...

Re: How to take apart your Dt366 and remove your ide flash memory

It can be done but be aware that the pin out is altered making it difficult. One would need to do some modifications to a cable and or adapter to get a cf card working correctly.

Re: Internal Flash-IDE Upgrade

Sorry about pic sizes. I am at 75 percent capacity with the hosting package I selected and I don't run ads here. This forum takes up a fair amount of space and I need to leave some room for backups. Definitely post pics elsewhere and link to the embedded pic if the option is available. I too have be...
