Re: Anyone try a PCMCIA USB2.0 Card?

Darn. I was hoping to just have the device stick out of the top of the DT. I planned on using a USB Wifi card, WiSpy, perhaps a USB thrumbdrive now and again. I doubt this would exceed 600mA of total drain.

You can see the WiSpy in another post of mine.

Thanks for the info.

Anyone try a PCMCIA USB2.0 Card?

The topic says it all. Has anyone tried a USB 2.0 PCMCIA USB card? There are two main types, ones that are nice and flat and use connector cables to hook into the card: http://www.easytrustdealer.com/pic/CE_Cardbus_USB2Short/hide.jpg Then there are ones with the USB ports built into a bulkhead: http...

Re: Dock uses

Can you tell us if the dock has USB 1.1 or 2.0? Do you have the dock with network, if so can you let us know what kind of network chipset its using from device manager (or varient system utility for your OS).

Wireless Tools Distro (teaser)

I had the honor to spend a day with Quoteaholic to put together a semi-stable build of Debian on my WebDT. Includes was a bunch of linux tools I use on a day to day basis for scanning and analyzing the 2.4Ghz Spectrum. Besides the Kismet wifi scanner working on my USB Realtek wifi card, and btscanne...

Re: Remote desktop isn't all that bad

Although I am not running WinCE anymore, I do have a Belkin PCMCIA 802.11G and Linksys WUSB54G wifi card running in XP Embedded. The PCMCIA doesnt 'hiccup' as much. If you have the chance and skill, try and run WinXP or Win2k, but keep in mind the WebDT 366 is very limited on hardware resources. 400...

Yeah we havent figured out what that switch does yet. I have a blind theory it is for the HDD2 master/slave setting.

Re: x266 transcend flash card

I dont quite understand your setup. You set PIO4 on the BIOS to IDE1, which is the onboard FLashROM and it seemed to be the limit? Or did you add a CF card to the IDE chain and did this test? From my research the FlashROM board is nothing more than a custom sized Compact Flash card. I contacted some...

Re: x266 transcend flash card

Can you tell us what the speed on the IDE bus is? I plan on hooking a CF card into the IDE chain soon. Also the onboard FlashROM is nothing more than a custom made CF Card. Can you benchmark that for us?

Re: Can I boot from the CF card slot?

I have verified that the DT366 Compact Flash is not bootable, even though it is on the USB Bus. It is not tied into the IDE. Unfortunately I removed my CF header and placed one on HDD2 assuming it was CF compliant, and it is not. It blew out my card. Oh well, at least we learned something from the F...

I have used an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer USB Thumbdrive under Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, and Linux with no issues.

Re: How to eliminate a USB hub and a bunch of wires when interfaceing with your DT

You are very welcome Quote', glad you enjoy synergy. I use it in my livingroom, and lab. It definitely cuts down the mess of keyboards and mice. TightVNC, Real VNC, and Ultra VNC is also a good cross platform VNC Servers and clients. *Hint hint!* Here is an idea of my livingroom setup. I also have V...

Re: Can you folks direct a newbie?

There isnt one yet. Keyword... YET.

If you have a stock WebDT 366 with 512MB FlashROM, XP wont fit. If you do manage to slim it down, it wont run all too well without major optimizations. Even still with a 400Mhz Geode GX CPU and 256MB of RAM, its not ideal for XP.

Re: [Photo] How to add 8G flash on WEBDT Tablet

the 44 pin header on these appears to be 3.3 v so a standard 2.5" hard disk will not work on them . However a 1.8" (ipod hard drive ) should since they are 3.3 v . The 366 board has two components in the way of allot of standard laptop ide cables . you have to shave two of the corners dow...

Re: Stereo Output

Next time I am in my WebDT doing some hardware work I will try and test this jack for everyone.

Here is an idea... anyone know if its a 4 pin headphone jack, and not 3? Many PDAs, phones, even my handheld ham radio all use 4 pin headphone jacks.
