Re: How to access bios DT366

I also have never had any issue using native USB keyboards.  One of mine is a little annoying in that the function keys need to be enabled on each boot(Media type keyboard).  I have to be quick to enable FN-lock then hit the F1 key.  So if you are gonna buy one, the simple may be the best.

Remote Desktop and Button Manager

Both Windows XP and WinCE 5.0 don't seem to utilize the hardware buttons while in a remote desktop session. This is where Linux wins.  I can get the buttons (D-pad) to scroll, move cursor, etc. on the remote machine.  In Windows, the D-pad does nothing for the RDP session. Anyone here get this to wo...

Re: Boot problem with DT366LX

If your internal flash is defective, it may stop the unit from fully posting, hence not bootable from any device. Try removing the internal flash from the boot list completely, just put USB/Flash as 1, and USB CDROM as 2.  See if that helps with the internal installed.  If it still won't boot, I'd s...

Re: I don't have an internal battery

what is the voltage on each (red, yellow) pins internal battery? At full Charge: -Blk +red = 8.40Volts -Blk +yel = 0volts -yel +red = 8.29Volts There is not voltage rating on my internal, but the external says 7.4Volts.  After just powering on the the unit a couple times and a few minutes usage, th...

Re: Boot problem with DT366LX

Are your flash drives USB type? The DT can't boot directly to Compact Flash card. Have you verified the USB drive will boot in another PC? Do you have a USB CD ROM drive?  This works great for booting live CD's. Have you tried booting to the USB drive with no additional hub or devices attached?  Som...

Re: Successful Debian5 install with matchbox wm

I have had good results loading a known good penmount.dat file.

You can try replacing /etc/penmount.dat with the following file after backing up your current file.

You should be able to run a calibration to further increase accuracy.

Re: A Couple General Questions

Sorry I can't help with the touch screen settings. You can free up some space by remove drivers that are not needed.  I have messed with this, but I don't have the expertise to dive deep and cut all the fat. I have had great success with mounting /usr directories with little performance hits. See th...

Have you tried using the focus button on the xvkbd?  Try hitting the focus button, then select the field you would like to edit, then start typing/tapping.

Re: Old Question

What happens at the stall?  Do you see your screen fading in and out?  The video can be a bugger on these.  Can you verify if the unit is an LX800 or a GX500 model?  Simplest way is if you have a PCMCIA network card under the antenna, you have a GX500, if you just see a wire going to a mini-PCI card...

Re: New install method for Debian-Seeking testers

I have confirmed this will not work with the DT366-LX800.  This is mostly due to different video, which is even pickier than the GX version. I am building a new image for my LX800, which I'll convert to a Clonezilla image.  Fortunately Clonezilla has created an Ubuntu based version, as I could not g...

Re: Linux on a WebDT366-LX800

I have tried to boot Debian 5 CD, with no joy.  I tried the following variations at boot, after choosing expert install. acpi=force vga=ofonly acpi=force vga=771 vga=ofonly vga=771 and vga=safe I'm not sure what I'm missing.  I keep at it. EDIT: I was able to get video using the following boot param...

Re: Connect CF-card to IDE2 JHDD2

I don't think energy consumption is at play here.  The USB on the device is only USB 1.0, making it terribly slow to run an OS.  Speed is what they are after here, along with a larger drive capacity.

Re: New install method for Debian-Seeking testers

...Is it possible to write it to a memory key and boot that way?... I have checked the Clonezilla docs.  It is possible to create a recovery option using USB.  This would require more work for the user though.  It may defeat the purpose of making it easy for users to flash Linux onto their DT.  Use...
