Re: How to access bios DT366

I would contact Dell for support on that one. Normally one flashes a BIOS with a usb thumbdrive that is loaded with bootable DOS. Dell should supply both the .rom file and a bios updating utility like bpupdate. Check their site to see what their recommended procedure is.

Selling a DT366-LX800 Debian 6 and a DT360

Hi All, Selling one of my DT366's. This is an LX800 hardware set with 512mb of ram. It has the original 512mb ssd in it as well. The SSD is loaded with a build of Debian 6 running LXDE, Wicd and Blueman bluetooth manager. It has opera browser and a lot of custom scripts in it that will suspend and w...

Re: Clonezilla installable image. Debian 6 DT366LX800

Okay, there was one missing thing from this image. HAL. Until one puts hal in the shutdown function from the menu will not work properly. The following are packages to to grab from the deban squeeze repo: hal_0.5.14-3 libusb-0.1-4_0.1.12-16 libhal1_0.5.14-3 libhal-storage1_0.5.14-3 libblkid1_2.17.2-...

Touch Screen Remote Control

Hey Everyone, Its not very often I post in the windows side of this forum however I have something neat to share. As a result of PenMount not supporting linux very well with their touchscreen drivers I have been halted on the linux effort. So I have been playing with Windows on my tablets and ran in...

No, I am sorry but at the request of many who are not familiar with dd I used clonezilla.

Here is a link explaining the process:

What is a WebDT?

A WebDT is an industrial web tablet manufactured by DT Research. http://www.dtresearch.com/ These are among some of the first "tablets" manufactured. They are industrial rated and boast a 4 foot drop rating as long as the rubber "bumpers" are attached. We have seen applications i...

Re: Touchscreen calibration

Tried this on debian 6 and ran in to limitations on the penmount side. Their latest driver did not include evtest although the readme indicated it was included. The result was that their driver did not report to the linux input layer. IE /dev/input/eventX. This is exactly what tslib needs to be able...

Re: Slax USB Bootable On Web DT366

Okay you have GX series hardware. Apologies however the Debian 6 image will only work on LX series hardware. The hanging portion that you are seeing is likely due to to the software looking for hardware that does not exist. The GX series has /dev/hda for hard drive associations. The LX series has /d...

Re: Slax USB Bootable On Web DT366

If you have the gx series your hard drive will recognize as /dev/hda if you have the lx series hardware set your hard drive will recognize /dev/sda. This difference may screw up your usb attempts. If you have GX series hardware you are limited to usb 1.1 and running an os from that will be like watc...

Re: WebDT312: possible to upgrade flash memory to SSD?

Yes, many have. Look in the hardware section of the DT366 section to see details and how to's by those of us who have upgraded our internal flash memory. Yes, this is different than the CF card slot. What we can buy from commercially available sources requires modification to work. DTRI or their cus...

Re: Slax USB Bootable On Web DT366

Where to start. Slax as with many other operating systems will try to default to an 1024x768 resolution which is unsupported n the DT. We have 800x600 screens. It would take a vga=771 or similar on the grub boot line. Try booting to text mode by hitting escape when the splash screen shows and startx...

Re: DT300 Info

Thank you for your post! For a while we had a repair tech who worked on DT's on a daily basis posting here. They knew the hardware quite well however this is the first time I have heard of this model. Very interesting indeed. Haiku has come up here in the past however the touchscreen having propriet...

Re: xPUD

Awesome! Its based on ubuntu so the biggest limiting factor is not a concern. Penmount makes drivers for each release of ubuntu so you should have no problem there. If xpud boots in read only fashion getting the extra packages in there may be interesting but it has a low real estate ratio so it look...
