Idea for Puppylinux and other linux distros that don't support the touch screen.

I have read that at least one person was using puppy linux and I assume there might be other with a preferred distro that doesn't have a driver for the touch screen. You could of course set it up at a desk and use a mouse, keyboard , or a mouse to operate a virtual keyboard but then you lack portabi...

Re: Google Chrome OS. Any thoughts?

Oh tell me about it. I grew up with an antenna you had to go and adjust periodically. The first satellite we had was 10 times the size of what they are now. Your right that Internet speeds aren't up for full cloud like deal. I just kind of envisioned the plug top computers coming in to popularity. I...

Re: Google Chrome OS. Any thoughts?

I was personally hoping that all that we be shifted to online hosted programs. The cloud ideas are so thought out I assumed that Chrome os would more or less upload the drivers and chrome. Cable came out with a DVR concept that's lined with a cloud. You pay for the service and it reacts like any oth...

you will need a Portable cd rom drive

So far using anything other than a cd rom drive is in effective. There are a few complicated ways that will work from a usb drive. Google the process if you want to try but thus far we have only been effective with the use of a cd rom drive.

austrumi linux

it runs on ram and after boot you can remove the usb if i understand correctly but i think it requires usb 2.0 to run right. Any who I have no clue but it only needs 128 ram  so perhaps it might be a distro someone might like to look at. i think its slackware based.
