The batteries I took apart I didnt find any overvolt protection ICs. Just plain ol' Li-Ion cells.

The cost of a battery rebuild will cost more than what i paid for a WebDT, if using the Li-ION cells (there is a specific name for it, I cant recall. Not Polymer ION... but something similar). I thought about using NiMH cells, but that would need 12 cells, and be pretty freakin' big/heavy to be a long term handheld.

I dont trust any of these DT battery resellers. People dont realize that from production date, Lithium-ION cells only have a shelf life of 4 years. New in box, out of the factory floor, it doesnt matter. After 4 years they just go downhill fast, and the DT is past this 4 year mark.
