DT368 BIOS

Post by Christos »

Can anyone tell me where the CMOS battery is located on the DT368 motherboard? A picture would be great!

Sorry, I can't give a picture but it's located under a small circuit board that bridges the 'power' board and the main circuit board. Once you remove the front cover and the rear cover, place the board LCD face down on a towel. Looking at the back with the battery area towards the bottom the BIOS battery is located under a small circuit board on the right edge from this viewing angle. CAREFULLY remove the board - it pulls straight up - DO NOT PRY IT as that will bend the pins. It just plugs in so pull it away from the board and you'll see the battery under it. Pay attention to the notched edge of this bridge connector so you put it back correctly. The battery is a CR1220 available from Radio Shack for $5 or get them on EBAY where you get 5 for $1.

This procedure is the same on the DT366 and DT368. The DT360 and DT310 have the battery visible on the main board. By the way, all these models use the CR1220 battery.

Good luck. -Dave

Thanks alot for the detailed description. Should be enough to be able to change the battery. Noticed I posted in the wrong part of the forum but as you mentioned, it's the same for both 366 and 368. Will take some pictures of the battery changing process and post it later. Cheers!

Check these pics of the DT366 from the forum.

In the first picture, you will see a small board to the right of the battery. The size is approximately .75" x 1.5".

Be careful removing it, the pins bend easily and break even easier if you try to bend them back.

Good luck.
