Windows XP Drivers Needed
Warning - cryptic message follows !!!
I had a man with a patch on his eye and a wooden leg tell me to look out in "the bay" and find MicroXP. I did and within 15 minutes I was running XP Pro SP3 (barebones).
End encryption...
This is amazingly fast! Best part is it is just the OS, you get to install your own programs. Penmount drivers work great.
Problem is I have some drivers that didn't load and aren't on the XP Pro CD that I legally own. If someone out there is running Xpe would they mind sharing their drivers for:
a) Multimedia Audio Controller - Device Instance ID = PCI\VEN_100B&DEV_002E
FOUND XXXXX b) PCI to Cardbus Bridge - Device Instance ID = PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_AC55
(Without this XP can't recognize the PCMCIA port or the CF slot) XXXXXX FOUND
c) Unknown Device - Device Instance ID = ACPI\ASIM0000\0
Thanks
Bruce

Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
I installed MicroXP too.
How'd you get the touchscreen drivers to work?, I've been messing with it for a long time, and yet it doesn't respond to taps or anything. I tried to reinstall it and it gives me an error.
Also, sound hasn't been tested, but am looking for the card slot drivers.
Weird.

Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
did you install the penmount driver and then use the included app to calibrate the touchscreen?
I am looking for the same cardbus driver as above by the way. The funny thing is that it was working with a nlite version of xp pro but that image was to big. I thought that if i pointed it at that disc I would be able to find the driver but that was a no go.

Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
I successfully tried MicroXP with the WebDt366 leaving about 213mb free without installing the BlueTooth software. With other software eg FoxIt I have everything I need with 150 mb free including 16 mb of video ram (bumped up in the bios)
Sound OK
Touchscreen OK
Button Agent OK
Video OK (change to 800 x 600)
PCMCIA OK
It is quiet usable, more so than XPe and more flexible than CE5
Install the PCMCIA card drivers first, for Texas Instruments and Cisco Wireless card.
MicroXP will need the following files to be installed into C:\Windows\system32. Place them in that folder beforehand. If the installer forgets the path, just direct them to the system32 folder.
drmk.sys
drmkaud.sys
ks.sys
ksproxy.ax
ksuser.dll
pcmcia.dll
portcls.sys
stream.sys
msswch.dll
I was able to find these in the SP3 compressed file on my main pc under C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386. For msswch.dll if not found in system32 folder, just issue the following command at command prompt. When I do my XP installs on main PC I always copy the i386 folder to root of C. For line below, create temp folder in Windows if not already there.
c:> expand C:\i386\msswch.dl_ C:\windows\temp\msswch.dll
To add desktop background enable Web tab via registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
"NoActiveDesktopChanges"=hex:00,00,00,00
"NoActiveDesktop"=dword:00000000
or download file 177 from http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Cheers

Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
I wonder if Using nlite to customize microxp with KDE for windows would be speedy.
Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
Why not? .net 2 is only 22 mb. I now have 174 mb free less 22mb is 152 left which includes drivers, 16 mb video ram, opera browser, ccleaner, fox it, fbr readermanko wrote: Any chances of installing .net 2 on MicroXP?

I've been messing with the thing for about a week now, I can't get the touchscreen to work at all.
Any other ideas?

Re: Windows XP Drivers Needed
thats and easy one... install a CF card (I got a 32gb one yesterday, $80) .. my computer-properties-advanced-environment variables>> point the temp file location to the CF card
