12v from vehicle

Can we direct connect to the webdt to our car battery? .Alternater usualy puts out around 14v, maybe with some old power supply diodes in line to drop it down a volt or 2?

Hi.
I've powered WebDT from cigarette lighter. I have Ford Scorpio II, voltage at the lighter connector is about 10V. It works.

Be warned the 12v powerport on a vehicle is not equal to a smart charger. The voltage can vary and it is possible to damage the charging circuit on the DT. This can be especially true during cranking the starter motor. There are inexpensive power inverters available which can be used for other items as well. I got a 150watt inverter 12v/120v delivered for ~$15.
