My super small flash drive arrived today ;D(Super Talent Pico-C) I wanted to get something that was tiny but not so thing that it would snap in half if the breeze blew the wrong way. Anywho here are some pictures of just how small it is.

Nice flash drive.  I just did a 'mod' on my WebDT that lets me house flash drives "internally".  I still need to take pics, and then I'll post the hardware mod that I performed on my unit  .... hmmm, maybe a 'hardware' section is in order.

I posted in the Windows section that a hardware section would be good. There are several posts over there that are actually more hardware related than windows.

Here is what I am going to try, use one of these:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11294

It is small enough to fit in the battery bay WITH the battery if you take a small piece of the rubber packing out at the top. I then intend to solder 4 small wires directly to it and solder the other ends to the contacts darkcirca indicated for his bluetooth mod. You now have an internal removable micro SD slot.

The only problem is I am not sure how well the plastic will hold up to soldering the 4 wires on.

ahh yeah thought you were talking to boot from david do you have the expanded battery cover on the back of your dt ? because without the internal battery in your unit they wont boot I thought.

correct understand they will plugged in but my point is being a portable terminal  if you remove the internal battery then you wont be able to boot without it plugged in . but  then I was correct the unit will not boot without the internal battery unless it is plugged in  would have been a better statement .

Running the OS from USB 1.1 will be slow as hell and really lag the machine to a useless state. I wouldnt recommend it. I dont know why you would mod the USB to be internal just to have onboard storage when you already have a Compact Flash Card reader built in. Seems like a waste of time, and a potentially dangerous mod if you are a total noob with this sort of thing.

1) If you are running puppy linux or some other 'ram' based linux it gives you somewhere to store your save file/union fs.
2) It gives you somewhere to store large files that only need slow access like mp3's and some areas of the os that can tolerate being slow E.g. /usr/share/docs
3) micro sd cards are cheap. 8GB is about $13
4) It still leaves the SD card free for other storage usage like more OS files.
